New Video + Update

We’ve had a hectic couple of months since our album launch - in addition to Edinburgh, we’ve played Glasgow, Dundee, Knockengorroch World Ceilidh, the Isle of Eigg and Eden Festival. The gigs have been really rewarding. Its great to see so many people watching us play and dancing to our music! Thanks guys!

For those of you who haven’t seen us yet this year, we’ve made a live video for ‘Evolution’ which will show you what the new version of the band looks like live;

In addition to the live shows, Artefacts has gained a bit of media coverage. Highlights included Celtic Music Radio making us their album of the week at the end of April, Iain Anderson played ‘Feeding John Magnets’ on his BBC Scotland Show on June 10th and Jonny Jobson wrote a 2-page review of our album in The National. Cheers Jonny!

Album Launch Announced

Our debut album - ‘Artefacts’ - is going to be launched with a gig at The Mash House on April 26th!

Support will come from Glaswegian hip-hop heroes (and sometime YP collaborators) Jackal Trades.

EDEN FESTIVAL SLOT CONFIRMED

We’re going to be playing this year’s Eden Festival!

Our set last year was one of our favourite gigs, so we’re really excited to be back again.

This time we’ll be appearing on The Great Mountain stage on Friday night!

SHIPWRECK MAKES RADIO DEBUT

Our single ‘Shipwreck’ is making it’s radio debut tonight - courtesy of Skye Records bossman Iain Copeland - on his show on Celtic Music Radio!

Tune in from the radio player on their app at 10 to catch him playing a - typically eclectic - mixture of tunes from around the world.

In other news, Lissa has been in the studio as part of a string octet recording with Glasgow jazz-fusion behemoth Fat Suit! We can’t wait to hear how it all turns out :)

DUNBAR GIG

We played our last gig of 2018 in Dunbar Parish Church Hall with Logan’s Close and Nic Tate and the Sharks.

We were joined on stage by our ‘stunt flautist’ Helen Lemar, who played on Fiddle Castro and new track Feeding John Magnets.

It was a great night! Thanks to the good people of Bossk Love Scene for putting us on again! You are all amazing!

'Shipwreck' Single Coming Next Week

Our new single ‘Shipwreck’ will be launched next Wednesday (19/12/18).

In a nutshell, it’s a 3 minute(ish) long, driving, funky electro/trad fusion track about the contradictions of love and relationships.

It features an outstanding vocal performance from Lissa, and live drums courtesy of Ali (the first time he’s ever plaid a full drumkit for us).

The accompanying promo video was shot by Lost Clock Productions and features performances by our friends at acrobat troupe Two Left Feat. A couple of band members may have joined in too!

Also featured on this track is live bass guitar from the brilliant Craig Stoddart. You’ll be able to hear more of his playing on our forthcoming album, which is scheduled to be released early next year.
